Bio

Antonio Iacchetti was born in Crema (Cr) in 1984. He received the M.Sc. in electrical engineering in 2009, defending the thesis "Effetti della potenza incidente sull'efficienza di fotorivelatori organici" (Effects of incident power on the efficiency of organic photodetectors).

From january 2010 he is working at the Center for NanoScience and Technology of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, and the same year he started pursuing a Ph.D. in Information Technology at the "Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione" of Politecnico di Milano.

He has been awarded of the "Roberto Rocca" fellowship for spending five months, in spring 2011, as a visiting scientist at the MIT laboratory of prof. Bulovic.

Projects

His activities is focused on organic photodetectors, in particular he's working at the development of an all-organic digital scanner for radiation detection by deploing the properties of molecular semiconductors.

Another research activity is the development of a photodetector in the red and near-infrared spectrum range for optical fiber application and its construction directly on the face of a plastic optical fiber.
